New Ad Highlights How Youth Mental Health and Wellbeing Is a Complex Challenge That Requires Bipartisan Solutions

WASHINGTON, DC — The Coalition to Empower our Future, a growing coalition that aims to convene a comprehensive conversation on the multifaceted and complex factors contributing to the state of youth mental health, today launched “Nuestra Misión,” a new ad highlighting the importance of meaningful and bipartisan solutions to address the many factors contributing to the youth mental health and wellbeing challenge.
The spot features former U.S. Representative and Coalition to Empower our Future Board Member Carlos Curbelo and brings attention to the myriad of factors impacting youth mental health in all communities, including in Spanish-speaking communities. The challenges our young people are facing include but are not limited to economic hardships, social isolation, fear of violence and bullying, and overuse of devices. It calls for a comprehensive examination of all factors to find long-lasting solutions to empower youth, their families and communities.
“Today’s youth are facing unprecedented challenges to their mental health and wellbeing, and we cannot let them face it alone,” said Glen Weiner, executive director of the Coalition to Empower our Future. “By coming together as families, schools and communities, we can start to have the meaningful and comprehensive conversations that are needed to support our kids and the many complex challenges they are facing.”

Former Montana Governor Steve Bullock, former assistant secretary for the Administration for Children and Family Services at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services January Contreras, and former U.S. Representative Carlos Curbelo serve on the board of directors of the Coalition to Empower our Future.
